stress relief and tai chi

stress reduction

Stress relief in the modern world draws increasingly on the ancient stress relief techniques of the East. Just taking a short break and using stress relief and stress management techniques such as these will make a difference to your life.

Of course, you could go all high tech with flotation tanks, electromyographs, light/sound brainwave entrainment machines, but why bother when a simple exercise program for stress management using taiji and qigong is so beneficial, and can be done virtually anywhere with no need for any equipment?

To get an idea of what it is like to do some of these meditation exercises, when you have a quiet time and you don't expect to be interrupted try the following: Simply sit quietly holding an imaginary ball in front of the dan-tien (just below the navel). Feel the connection between the two hands. Then each time as you breathe in allow the hands to move apart, coming back together again as you breathe out.

If you are able to spare the time to join a class of tai chi, yoga, or meditation this will provide you with an incentive to keep going as well as the opportunity to learn more advanced techniques in a controlled environment where postures can be adjusted by your instructor for maximum effectiveness. All forms of tai chi help with stress management relief of tension and you generally get from it in proportion to what you put into it. Take a little time out to explore the rest of the site.
